Terms of Use

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Deadweight ("the Software") is provided free of charge by Arthur Pinhas ("the Developer"). By downloading or using the Software you agree to these terms.

  1. License

    You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software on any Mac you own or control, free of charge, for personal or commercial use.

  2. Restrictions

    You may not redistribute, sublicense, rent, lease, sell, or mirror the Software; decompile or disassemble it; create derivative works; or remove any copyright or proprietary notices. Deadweight is closed-source freeware.

    You are always free to check what it does. Nothing above restricts you from inspecting the Software's behaviour for security or privacy purposes, including monitoring its network activity, watching which files it reads, or otherwise verifying the claims made on this site. Deadweight asks you to trust it with your files, so you are entitled to confirm it deserves that. If you find something that contradicts what is written here, please email support@deadweightapp.com.

  3. "As Is": No Warranty

  4. Data and User Responsibility

    The Software moves files to the Trash, where they remain recoverable. Two of its actions are permanent and cannot be undone: emptying the Trash from within the app, and deleting a Time Machine local snapshot. Both are shown to you with an explicit confirmation first. You are solely responsible for:

    • maintaining current backups before use (for example, Time Machine);
    • reviewing and confirming every selection before deleting;
    • any consequences of files being moved to Trash or permanently deleted.

    Reclaimable-space figures and category sizes are estimates and may be affected by permissions, hardlinks, APFS clones, and stale scans.

  5. Limitation of Liability

  6. Privacy

    The Software makes no network connections and collects no personal data. See the Privacy Policy.

  7. No Obligation to Update

    The Developer may modify or discontinue the Software at any time and is under no obligation to provide updates or support.

  8. Governing Law

    These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel; disputes are subject to the courts of Tel Aviv, Israel.
